About Rick Ector, who founded this school
Rick Ector
NRA Training Counselor, Chief Range Safety Officer and Certified Firearms Instructor
Rick Ector taught firearms classes in Detroit from 2001 and founded Rick’s Firearm Academy. As an NRA Training Counselor he trained other instructors, and he has served on the National Rifle Association board of directors.
He was interviewed regularly on firearm safety and personal protection, and his CPL training was covered by the Associated Press, National Public Radio, the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Detroit News and Fox News.
Through Legally Armed in Detroit he also ran an annual free shooting event for women, which introduced thousands of first time shooters to the range.
